Most vendors treat retention as a calendar: how long we keep it, who can read it, when we delete it. That framing already lost. If the artifact exists at rest, process is the only wall.
Dataless AI inverts the constraint. Work happens in volatile memory. Embeddings are used and discarded in the same lifecycle. Logs carry structure, never content.
